Description
This activity is tailored for kids that have been assessed for autistic spectrum disorder. We understand that each family is special and we can make further adjustments to the sessions to fit your needs
The Educational Robotics sessions for kids in autistic spectrum are delivered as private sessions (up to 2 participants) in our locations. A parent or a friend is recommended to join the session to help build trust and reduce stress. The parent or friend is encouraged to take active role and participate fully in the activity
Activity Description
The emphasis is on fun, yet we encourage learning about concepts through dialogue and questioning. Prior knowledge of robotics is not required, the teams are formed in a way to support the skill enhancement of the kids
During this set of sessions, kids will:
- Learn and exercise fundamental principles of Robotics & Programming
- Learn how to programme robots integrating a variety of sensors and actuators
- Work on practical activities
- Develop problem-solving skills and teamwork
Topics include:
- Introduction to robotic platform Lego Mindstorms EV3 and Lego Mindstorms NXT
- Interaction with the environment: Sensors and Actuators
- Decision Making
- Applied maths on robots
- Software variables and constants
- Motion control
Ages:
- 8-16
Cost:
- £25 per session (total price up to 2 participants) – Each session is approximately 60 minutes
